Vivo Y50 5G, Y50m 5G launch with a big battery, water-resistant design

Vivo has launched two new Y series phones that are affordable, yet pack a bunch of features. Some of the highlights of the Vivo Y50 5G and Y50m 5G include a shimmery design, dual cameras, and a massive battery. Here’s everything you need to know.

All about the Vivo Y50 5G, Y50m 5G

The new Vivo Y50 duo features the standard Vivo design, which we usually see in Vivo’s mid-range phones. There are large camera modules, an LED ring light, and a shimmery design. The series features a 6.74-inch notch display with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The panel has a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling.

Powering the duo is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Y50m has 6GB of base RAM, whereas the Vivo Y50 comes with 4GB of base RAM.

As far as the battery is concerned, the series packs a 6,000mAh battery and supports 44W fast charging. Both models feature a dual-rear camera system on the back. The setup is led by a 13MP main sensor and an auxiliary unit. There’s a 5MP camera on the rear for selfies and video calls.

The series runs on Android 15-based OriginOS 5 out of the box. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner out of the box for added security. The duohas an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Vivo Y50 5G starts at CNY 1,199 (about Rs 14,400), whereas the Vivo Y50m 5G starts at CNY 1,499 (about Rs 18,000). Currently, both phones are available in China. Having said that, in the same price range in India, you can check out their alternatives like the Vivo Y39 5G and the CMF Phone 2 Pro.
