Get ready for another season of biting sarcasm and clever burns

Wednesday Season 2 creeps closer, and it’s full of woes

If you’ve been lurking in the shadows, counting down the days for the return of everyone’s favourite gothic sleuth, your patience is about to pay off. Netflix’s gloriously grim series Wednesday, led by the deliciously deadpan Jenna Ortega, is returning for a second season that promises even more supernatural drama, biting sarcasm, and mysterious mayhem. Here’s when you can binge watch it:

Wednesday Season 2 dates and episode names revealed

The new teaser confirms that the first half of Wednesday Season 2 will premiere on August 6. The second half will follow close behind on September 3, which means fans won’t have to endure a long wait to get the full dose of chaos from Nevermore Academy.

This season picks up with Wednesday Addams navigating her second year at the eerie institution, and things are only getting weirder. According to showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the storyline this time will be darker, twistier, and more complex. Jenna Ortega returns to the role with even sharper edges, and from the looks of it, she’ll be going toe-to-toe with both old adversaries and some sinister new threats.

Fans of the first season will be thrilled to know that the tradition of pun-laced episode titles returns in full force. The season opens with ‘Here We Woe Again’, a fitting reentry into the gloomy world of Nevermore. As the story unfolds, expect episodes like ‘If These Woes Could Talk’, ‘The Great Outwoes’, and ‘The Devil You Woe’ to set the tone.

And that’s just the beginning. New additions to the line-up include ‘Hide and Woe Seek’, ‘Woe Thyself’, ‘This Means Woe’, and the chillingly titled ‘A Woe in the Dark’. They may not give away major plot points, but the thematic consistency is wickedly on-brand.

If Season 1 left you humming The Cramps and dreaming of dance scenes under moonlight, Season 2 looks ready to plunge you even deeper into the shadows. Will you be bingeing it on August 6? We’ll be right there too. Black coffee, zero emotions, and all.
