What is ARC?

ARC (Air Refresher Control or Air Flow Rate Control) is the most important component of modern air conditioners that helps to create better comfort conditions and to reduce energy consumption. Let’s first find out the definition of ARC and how it can serve you to get the best cooling option.

What is ARC in an air conditioner?

Fundamentally, ARC is a technology which safeguards the airflow in air-conditioners by providing even cooling at any corner of a room. This technology is a very efficient tool for overcoming the most generally faced problems such as uneven heating, temperature fluctuations, and ineffective energy usage.

A fundamental operation of ARC is the control of the speed of the motor wind-up of the air conditioner. Such adjustments are made considering such factors as room temperature, the desired setting point, and the cooling load. Through the synchronised tuning of the speed of the fans, ARC just helps to maintain a uniform temperature in a room by preventing the unpleasant experience of hot and cold spots in space.

Furthermore, ARC has an energy-saving feature that supplies only the proper cooling volume to a room. During periods when cooling demand is lower, or when the room is already at the right temperature, ARC reduces the fan speed and compressor output. This technology not only saves energy but also prolongs the service life of the AC components.

Unlike a standard air conditioner, ARC will intelligently assess the situation by running at less than its capacity. If the room is near the desired temperature, the ARC system may operate at a lower level for a while, regulating the comfort level gradually without wasting energy. Moreover, the ARC in air conditioner technology works in unison with smart sensors and thermostats thus enabling for more effective temperature adjustments.
