Netflix has dropped the official trailer for the fourth season of The Witcher and with it, finally given us a proper look at Liam Hemsworth picking up the silver sword as Geralt of Rivia. This comes ahead of the season’s release date on October 30.
The wait is nearly over
The trailer wastes no time showing off the new Witcher. We see Hemsworth’s Geralt slicing his way through soldiers, a massive ogre-like beast, and a ghostly wraith. The season this time seems to be about him rebuilding not just his body but his spirit too. One ominous voiceover in the trailer even notes that the Witcher is in a “state of flux”.
Geralt won’t be alone on his quest to find Ciri. The trailer reveals he’s putting together his famous “hansa” or crew.
Fan-favourite bard Jaskier is back by his side, and they’re joined by exciting newcomers like the archer Milva, played by Meng’er Zhang, and the mysterious Regis, brought to life by Laurence Fishburne. Their main goal is tracking down Ciri who has her own problems to deal with.
The rest of the Continent isn’t just sitting around waiting for Geralt either. Ciri is off honing her skills with a band of young outlaws known as the Rats. She’s figuring out her purpose away from her guardians.

Meanwhile, Yennefer of Vengerberg is playing the long game. She is seen uniting with the Elves to build an army powerful enough to challenge the increasingly dangerous mage Vilgefortz.
The TV show itself is rooted in The Witcher game series by CD Projekt Red, which helped catapult Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy world into global fame. Known for its gritty storytelling, branching choices, and deeply flawed heroes, the games shaped much of the tone and popularity the Netflix series now builds on.
