HyperOS 3, Xiaomi’s latest custom UI skin, rolls out to multiple devices

HyperOS 3, Xiaomi’s latest custom UI skin, is being rolled out for a slew of devices, confirmed Sandeep Sarma, Xiaomi India’s Associate Director of Marketing and PR. The update, which is based on Android 16, has arrived for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices, bringing several AI-driven features, new widgets, and refreshed animations.

HyperOS 3 arrives for multiple devices

As confirmed by Sarma, the HyperOS 3 update is currently rolling out for the Xiaomi 14 and Pad 7 in India. It is also being made available for the Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi 13, Poco F7, and Poco M7 Pro 5G.

HyperOS 3: Steps to install the update

If the HyperOS update has arrived for your device, you will see a notification prompting you to upgrade. Alternatively, you can follow the steps below to manually check for its availability:

Step 1: Navigate to Settings > My Device, and then tap on the HyperOS banner.

Step 2: Select the Check for update button. If the update is available, you will see the Download and Install Update option.

Step 3: The device may prompt you to restart to complete the installation process.

HyperOS 3: What’s new?

HyperOS 3 introduces a major shift towards “Agentic AI” and enhanced cross-ecosystem fluidity. The update debuts Xiaomi HyperIsland (an interactive, multi-tasking notification pill similar to iPhone’s Dynamic Island), a “Liquid Glass” UI with transparent, refractive effects, and AI Cinematic Lock Screens that turn static photos into 3D motion wallpapers.

Beyond visual changes, HyperOS 3 introduces HyperConnect, enabling seamless file sharing and even app usage between Xiaomi and Apple devices. The update also includes a suite of HyperAI tools offering real-time writing assistance, deep-thinking notes, and smart object extraction from images.
