Xiaomi has officially pencilled in a major software reveal for later this month, strongly hinting that HyperOS 3 will make its global debut on September 24. First, the company announced its Xiaomi 15T series launch event for that date. Shortly after, the official HyperOS account on X reposted the announcement adding a message about “Big surprises incoming” for September 24.
Everything you need to know about HyperOS 3
This all but confirms the global version of the new operating system will arrive running on the upcoming 15T hardware straight out of the box. As for features, since the software has already been released in China, we already have a clear picture of what to expect.
Visually, HyperOS 3 introduces the “Xiaomi Super Island”—a feature clearly inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island. Xiaomi’s implementation, however, has a few unique tricks. It can display up to three mini-panels simultaneously and allows users to drag content directly from the island into supported applications.
HyperOS also gets refreshed icons with more vivid colours and rounded corners, along with a translucent effect in menus. Lock screen customisation also gets an overhaul, featuring AI-generated dynamic wallpapers and a new centralised editing interface to tweak clock styles and more.

Xiaomi is also making a play for ecosystem cohesion, particularly for users who own Apple computers. A new dedicated desktop app for macOS will allow users to run up to three mobile app windows on their Mac. It even bridges hardware gaps by letting users unlock their Xiaomi phone using Touch ID on a Mac and seamlessly sync notifications between devices.
Besides the UI changes, Xiaomi promises significant performance enhancements built on its HyperCore technology. The company claims app launch speeds have increased by 21 per cent and gaming frame rates see a 15 per cent improvement.
As for when the new update is supposed to arrive on your device, Xiaomi is expected to quickly open a beta programme for existing devices like the Xiaomi 14T Pro. Of course, the latest flagships will get it first, followed by other handsets.
