Xiaomi is officially entering the big leagues of virtual motorsport. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the company’s high-performance electric flagship, is launching in Gran Turismo 7 as part of Update 1.67, rolling out on January 29 across PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
This marks Xiaomi’s first-ever appearance in the long-running racing franchise, a series known for being highly selective about the cars it admits to its virtual garages. From January 29, players worldwide will be able to take the SU7 Ultra onto Gran Turismo’s famously exacting digital circuits, following the update’s release at 2:00 PM GMT+8 (11:30 AM IST).
From Nürburgring laps to console laps
The partnership between Xiaomi and Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital was announced last year. Series producer Kazunori Yamauchi personally test-drove the SU7 Ultra at real-world circuits including the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Tsukuba, while Xiaomi’s vehicle dynamics team travelled to Polyphony Digital’s studio in Fukuoka to fine-tune the in-game handling.

The result is a digital version that hopes to mirror the real car as closely as possible. Under the virtual hood, the SU7 Ultra brings its headline specs into the game: a tri-motor setup delivering 1,548 horsepower, all-wheel drive, and acceleration figures that comfortably sit in hypercar territory.
It is the same car that set a 7:04.957 lap time at the Nürburgring in 2025, breaking records for electric executive vehicles in the process.
A statement entry for Gran Turismo
Gran Turismo has traditionally leaned on heritage marques and motorsport icons, which makes Xiaomi’s inclusion notable. This is not a concept car or a speculative future machine, but a production EV that Xiaomi is actively pushing as part of its global automotive ambitions.
To mark the occasion, Polyphony Digital is also hosting a two-week official lap-time challenge at Monza, giving players a reason to immediately put the SU7 Ultra through its paces.
It is a confident debut for Xiaomi on one of gaming’s most respected racing stages, and a sign that the line between cutting-edge EVs and virtual motorsport is getting thinner by the update.
