Xiaomi has announced the Xiaomi TV Stick HD (2nd Gen) globally, and it’s an entry-level streaming device that plugs directly into your TV’s HDMI port, giving your TV a smart upgrade.

This newer generation of the Xiaomi TV Stick HD brings improved Wi-Fi connectivity and supports 1080p playback. Here’s everything you need to know.

The Xiaomi TV Stick HD (2nd Gen) runs on Google TV, giving users access to apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Apple TV, along with personalised recommendations and user profiles.

It also comes with a built-in Google Assistant, allowing voice search, app control, and even smart home commands via the remote.

The device is powered by a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor paired with a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. Xiaomi claims this setup delivers up to 38 per cent better CPU performance compared to the predecessor. As for memory, it is backed by 1GB RAM and 8GB storage.

For streaming, the stick supports up to 1080p resolution at 60Hz along with HDR10+ for improved contrast and detail. On the audio front, you get Dolby Audio and DTS:X support, provided the content and hardware are compatible.

Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz support, along with Bluetooth 5.0. The remote supports both Bluetooth and infrared, and features dedicated buttons for Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube.

The 2nd-generation Xiaomi TV Stick HD is compact and lightweight at just 44g, making it easy to carry around or plug into any display. It also supports Google Cast, letting you mirror content from your smartphone or tablet wirelessly.
