Alienware announces new laptops, desktops and peripherals at CES 2024

Dell’s gaming division, Alienware, has unveiled a bunch of new products at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024. The new products include three new gaming laptops, a new desktop, and some new accessories. If you missed the announcements, here’s a quick look at all of the new products, starting with the laptops.

Alienware m16 R2 features, specs

The Alienware m16 R2 is the more portable option of the lot, offering a compact design. The new version drops the thermal shelf at the back of the laptop for a 15 per cent smaller body. There’s a 16-inch QHD+ screen, 240Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 300 nits brightness.

It is powered by Intel Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 9 processors and comes with up to 64GB RAM and 8TB SSD storage. GPU options range from an Nvidia RTX 4050 6GB to an RTX 4070 8GB, along with plenty of I/O ports including a Thunderbolt port, a USB 3.2 Type C port, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, an HDMI port and an RJ-45 port. The laptop prices start at USD 1,649 (about Rs 1,37,000).

Alienware x16 R2 features, specs

The Alienware x16 R2 comes with a full-metal construction and is a more powerful, performance-focused gaming laptop. It comes with Element 31 thermal interface material around the GPU (and the CPU on some variants), along with multiple design choices for more efficient cooling.

The Alienware x16 R2 comes with a 16-inch QHD+ screen with 3ms response time, 240Hz refresh rate, and 100 per cent DCI-P3 coverage. The laptop is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 or Core Ultra 9 processors and comes with up to 32GB RAM and 8TB SSD storage. The laptop also comes with multiple GPU options, from the Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB to the RTX 4090 16GB. The laptop prices start at USD 2,099 (about Rs 1,74,400).

Alienware m18 R2 features, specs

The Alienware m18 R2 is the brand’s equivalent to a flagship smartphone. This beast of a laptop comes with the best specifications, over-clocking capabilities, and superior thermal design. The laptop is available with 18-inch displays sporting an FHD+ 480Hz or a QHD+ 120Hz panel.

The laptop is also powered by the 14th Gen Intel Core i7 and i9 processors, coupled with up to 64GB RAM and 4TB storage. GPU options range from the Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB to the Nvidia RTX 4090 16GB.

The Alienware m18 R2 is also able to channel up to 270W of power, and comes with features like per-key RGB, and a mechanical laptop keyboard that supports N-key rollover and 1.8mm key travel. The laptop prices start at US 1,899 (about Rs 1,57,800).

Alienware Aurora R16 features, specs

Coming to the desktop, CES 2024 offered us a closer look at the Alienware Aurora R16. We have separately covered this desktop already, so there isn’t much new left to surprise us here.

Regardless, this beast of a gaming desktop is perfect for those building a no-compromise setup with 14th Gen Intel processors, GPU options up to the Nvidia RTX 4090 and a new cooling mechanism that’s great for better airflow. The Alienware Aurora R16 supports up to 500W PSUs, and prices start at Rs 1,59,990.

Alienware also announced some other products, including the Alienware Pro Wireless Mouse and Pro Wireless Keyboard. For those seeking new displays, the brand also announced two new OLED gaming monitors, available in both 27-inch and 32-inch sizes. More details on the Indian price and availability of these new laptops and other gaming peripherals should be made official later on.
