A mix of premium and value

Amazfit Active 2 Square launched in India with style, smarts, and stamina

In a market overflowing with cookie-cutter smartwatches, Amazfit just dropped something that might actually make you reconsider your wrist real estate. Say hello to the Amazfit Active 2 Square – a square-faced, sapphire-clad wearable that’s more than just a pretty display. After having launched in the global markets, the watch has now made its way to India.

So, if you’re looking for a new smartwatch, you may want to keep the Amazfit Active 2 Square on your radar. From fitness and health features to a massive display, here’s all you need to know about this new smartwatch.

Amazfit Active 2 Square: All you need to know

The Active 2 Square blends classic design cues with cutting-edge health tech. On the front sits a bold 1.75-inch AMOLED display pushing out a crisp 390×450 resolution and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. So, it’s ideal for sun-drenched hikes or mid-run glances.

The sapphire glass protection ups the durability without compromising on looks, while a stainless-steel chassis adds a premium touch often missing in this price bracket. It’s available in a slick Black with a leather strap, and Amazfit even tosses in a bonus Red silicone strap.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the brand’s BioTracker 6.0 PPG sensor, which is Amazfit’s latest in biometric tech that delivers real-time heart rate monitoring, SpO₂ tracking, breathing rate checks, and sleep analysis. It even throws in abnormality alerts, which is like having a quiet but concerned coach whispering on your wrist.

And that coach? It’s got AI now. The new Zepp Coach feature creates personalised training plans that adapt to your performance and recovery. Whether you’re sweating it out in a Hyrox race, perfecting your yoga flow, or cycling through the city, the Active 2 Square has over 160 sports modes to track the effort. Plus, there’s built-in GPS, so you can leave your phone behind and still map your run or ride with precision.

From managing calls via Bluetooth 5.2, skipping songs, controlling your iPhone camera (yes, iOS users get love too), and syncing notifications, this smartwatch promises to be more than just a passive tracker. It listens, too. The Zepp Flow voice assistant lets you talk to your watch and get things done, be it changing settings or starting a workout, no taps required.

Also onboard is menstrual cycle tracking, PAI health scoring, and compatibility with the Zepp app, where users can pick from over 400 watch faces, from minimalist chic to data-heavy dashboards.

Despite packing all that functionality, the 260mAh battery delivers up to 10 days of juice on typical usage and stretches to 19 days in Battery Saver Mode. It takes about two hours to go from dead to full, which is not lightning fast, but manageable. And with a 5ATM water resistance rating, it’s swim-proof, rain-proof, and sweat-friendly.

Amazfit Active 2 Square: Price and availability

The Amazfit Active 2 Square is priced at Rs 12,999 and is available now via the Amazfit India website. That places it in the sweet spot where it is just premium enough to impress, but not pricey enough to provoke regret.
