Apple Fitness+ confirms India entry amid large-scale rollout

Apple Fitness+ is preparing for a significant milestone as Apple confirms its arrival in India on December 15. The service, known for unifying workouts across Apple devices, now enters its largest expansion phase since launch, offering users an expanded catalogue and updated features that aim to make digital fitness more accessible and engaging for a wider audience worldwide.

Apple Fitness: New features and global rollout

From the said date, Apple Fitness+ will be available in 49 countries, including India. Users will get access to 12 workout categories designed for varying fitness levels through iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. Apple Watch users can follow real-time activity metrics during sessions, while AirPods Pro 3 enables on-screen viewing of key indicators.

Custom Plans introduce personalised schedules shaped around preferred workouts, trainers and durations, helping users build consistency with minimal effort and encouraging a more structured approach to everyday wellness goals.

Music remains central to the Fitness+ experience, strengthened by Apple Music integration and the addition of a new K-Pop genre. Popular series such as Artist Spotlight, Time to Walk and curated Collections continue to shape the platform’s motivational offerings. Meditation themes including Calm, Sleep and Sound complement the workout library, giving users more ways to build mindful habits.

According to Apple, Fitness+ now appeals to beginners as much as regular users, thanks to clear guidance and shorter sessions that reduce entry barriers while still maintaining variety and progression.

Apple Fitness+: Price and availability

Apple Fitness+ will be available in India from December 15 at Rs 149 per month or Rs 999 per year, with support for family sharing for up to five members. The expansion also covers multiple regions on the same date, while Japan will receive access early next year. Eligible new Apple devices and AirPods Pro 3 come with three months of Fitness+ at no additional cost.
