Reports have consistently revealed details about the iPhone 18 Pro series’ Dynamic Island. A new leak indicates that Apple is still experimenting with certain design elements, suggesting that the final look of the device has not yet been locked in. These early details offer a glimpse into what Apple could be planning for its next Pro model.
Apple testing multiple Dynamic Island designs
According to an online tipster, Apple is currently evaluating two different display approaches for the iPhone 18 Pro. One option sticks to the existing display design seen on the iPhone 17 Pro, while the other introduces a smaller Dynamic Island.
This revised version is said to be possible by placing some Face ID components beneath the display panel. Earlier reports had suggested that this change could reduce the size of the Dynamic Island by roughly 35 per cent.
However, the latest update indicates that Apple is still in an A-B testing phase, meaning both designs are under consideration. If the company decides to reuse the current design, the visual difference compared to the previous generation could be minimal.
Rear design may remain largely unchanged
In addition to front-facing changes, the tipster has also shared insights into the rear design. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to continue with the rectangular camera layout introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro. While the overall structure may stay the same, Apple could refine the materials and finish to create a more seamless look between different elements.
These updates align with previous reports suggesting that Apple may take an iterative approach this year, focusing on refinement rather than a major redesign. The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are expected to debut later this year, possibly alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
