Apple MacBook Pro with OLED touchscreen to bring much anticipated design changes

Apple has just launched the MacBook Pro with the M5 chip, and there are speculations that new variants featuring M5 Pro and M5 Max chips could also be in the works. In addition to these rumours, Apple is reportedly working on a MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen.

According to a new update by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this model will bring long-awaited design changes to the MacBook lineup.

Touchscreen MacBook Pro’s expected design changes

MacBook Pro models have been sporting the same design since Apple unveiled the M1 Pro and M1 Max models back in 2021. According to Gurman, the rumoured OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro will feature a punch-hole camera instead of a notch.

There will also be some changes to the build, as it is said to feature a slimmer and lighter design. Additionally, the device will be equipped with a reinforced hinge to ensure that the display does not shake when it is touched.

Rumours suggest that the MacBook Pro with OLED touchscreen will be powered by Apple’s next-generation M6 chips. The other details of the device are under wraps.

Expect a price hike

With significant design and hardware improvements expected, the OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro could arrive with a price hike compared to current models.

At present, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 starts at Rs 1,69,900, while the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Pro begins at Rs 2,49,900.

As for its launch, reports indicate that the touchscreen MacBook Pro could debut in 2027, coinciding with the availability of the M6 chip lineup. However, there is also speculation that at least one variant could arrive by late 2026.
