Apple’s tiny Finder Guy is already becoming the internet’s new favourite mascot

Apple has introduced an unlikely star in its latest social media campaign. A tiny mascot inspired by the classic Finder icon has begun appearing in TikTok videos promoting the newly launched MacBook Neo, and the internet seems rather taken by him.

The character, informally dubbed the “Finder guy”, is part of a campaign clearly aimed at younger audiences. Apple is using short-form TikTok videos to showcase the MacBook Neo, its new entry-level laptop priced from Rs 69,900. While the videos themselves focus on the MacBook Neo’s features, the tiny blue-and-white mascot has quickly become the detail viewers remember.

So far, the Finder guy has appeared only briefly, but even those fleeting moments have been enough to spark attention online.

A tiny desk, a tiny MacBook, and a lot of curiosity

The first sighting came in a quick TLDR-style TikTok video highlighting the MacBook Neo’s specifications. The character appeared momentarily, styled after Apple’s long-standing Finder logo with its familiar split blue face.

The second appearance was captured during a TikTok livestream titled “Matcha Break with MacBook Neo”. In the clip, the Finder guy sits at a miniature desk, working on an equally miniature MacBook Neo while casually sipping matcha.

Because TikTok livestreams vanish once they end, the footage only survives through recordings shared by viewers. One such clip surfaced on X via user @m2macmini, giving fans another glimpse of the character.

The internet is already making its own versions

Despite limited screen time, the Finder guy has already begun spreading across the internet. Fans have started generating their own interpretations of the character using AI tools and 3D modelling software, posting images, short animations and even printable models online.

Whether Apple plans to make the mascot a recurring feature remains unclear. The company has not officially acknowledged the character, and the TikTok clips offer only subtle appearances rather than a full introduction.

Still, the response suggests Apple may have stumbled upon something that resonates. For a campaign aimed squarely at Gen Z and Gen Alpha viewers, a slightly odd yet charming mascot might be exactly the right tone.

The MacBook Neo itself is now on sale. The laptop starts at Rs 69,900 in India and will be available in four colours including blush, indigo, silver and citrus.
