Bang & Olufsen’s latest luxury earbuds cost as much as a flagship phone

Danish luxury audio hardware company Bang & Olufsen has launched a pair of earbuds that cost almost as much as the iPhone 17 Pro Max in India.

Priced at $1,500 (roughly Rs 1,33,140), the Beo Grace comes in a flashy aluminium build inspired by the “elegance of fine jewellery.” You get the same aluminium finish on both the earbuds and case, with that signature logo embellished across both.

Absolutely brimming with technology

This device is not all about the looks – it’s packed with intelligent tech. B&O promises four times more effective ANC performance than its own previous best earbud, enabled by six studio-grade microphone and some serious smarts that make realtime adjustments based on the fit and surroundings.

The Grace are also claimed to offer a highly-effective transparency mode – so good, in fact, that you might “forget you’re wearing earpieces at all.”

Of course, you also get remarkable audio to go with that, delivered through 12mm titanium drivers. The output quality is further boosted by enhancements like the ability to virtualise any stereo mix. Dolby Atmos is onboard too for a more natural listening experience.

One cool, rare feature is ‘NearTap’ that lets you control the volume by tapping your ears instead of the earbuds themselves for a more natural experience – quite literally. This should come in handy if you find touch controls finicky or hate it when adjusting the earbuds for a better fit accidentally triggers an action.

For when you do need to play around with anything besides volume, the earbuds feature ‘force sensing,’ which is a fancy way of referring to squeeze controls. Squeezes also trigger a sound that B&O says resembles an actual mechanical click.

The earbuds are claimed to deliver 4.5 hours of playback with ANC on, which can be stretched to 17 hours with the case. B&O adds that it partnered with battery intelligence company Breathe to ensure longevity for over 2,000 hours.

Circling back to that fancy charging case, it can also double up as a transmitter when plugged into a device like a laptop or airplane TV and stream audio from it.

Finally, if you have more cash to burn, another $400 (about Rs 35,500) gets you a leather purse to carry the earbuds around.

The B&O Beo Grace are available on preorder in several regions, though India has seemingly been left out. Interested buyers may have to wait for them to appear on third-party channels instead.
