Who needs a TV when you got these?

BenQ drops two new 4K projectors in India for folks who dislike TVs on walls

BenQ just dropped two new 4K projectors in India, and honestly, they look pretty sweet if you are trying to turn a living room into a cinema without mounting a massive TV on the wall.

We are looking at the TK705i and the TK705STi. Both of these are hitting shelves this November with Google TV baked right inside, so you can finally ditch the external streaming sticks.

Google TV, 5ms latency, and more

You might be wondering what actually sets them apart. It mostly comes down to how much space you have to work with. The TK705STi is the option built for short-throw projection.

It can blast a massive 100-inch image from just 1.8 metres away, which is perfect if you are living in a tighter apartment setup. On the flip side, the standard TK705i uses a motorised optical zoom that needs a bit more distance to do its thing properly.

Regardless of which one you grab, you are getting 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness. That should be enough to fight off ambient light in a typical room without needing blackout curtains. BenQ threw in its CinematicColor tech too, promising 98% Rec.709 colour coverage.

Plus, the setup sounds surprisingly painless. They come with an 8-way “Smart Image Adaptation” system. Basically, this handles auto focus, keystone correction, and obstacle avoidance. And it means you aren’t spending 20 minutes just fiddling with dials every time you accidentally bump the table.

Gamers actually get some serious attention here. We usually expect lag on projectors, but these claim an input lag of just 5ms at 4K 60Hz. You also get HDMI 2.1 ports with eARC and auto low latency mode, making these viable for a serious PS5 or Xbox Series X session.

Moreover, since Google TV is native, you can stream Netflix or Prime Video directly, and the remote even talks to your phone via an app if you lose the physical controller.

They aren’t exactly budget offerings, though. The TK705i lands at Rs 1,99,990, and the short-throw model asks for Rs 2,25,000.
