BGMI 4.0 ‘Spooky Soiree’ update is here

Krafton has officially launched the BGMI 4.0 update in India. This is a Halloween-themed affair that unleashes a ‘Spooky Soiree’ on Android and iOS players. It includes a mansion environment complete with floating platforms, Pumpkin Zombies, and even a flying magic broom for players to ride.

A new companion, a post-defeat mode, and a powerful new weapon

The 4.0 update completely overhauls the battleground with fresh mechanics and a spooky aesthetic that changes how the game is played.

Players now get a new companion named Ghostie, who’s a helpful spectre that follows them around offering powerful abilities. Ghostie can transform into a floating balloon to lift you into the air or become a Guardian Shield to block incoming fire.

It also provides passive skills like repairing your armour, healing you, boosting your sprint speed, and even scanning for nearby enemies after you land a hit. The changes fundamentally alter the core gameplay loop.

Even getting eliminated is not the end anymore thanks to the new Prankster Ghost mechanic. After being defeated, players can temporarily return as a ghost with their own set of skills. You can turn into a high-speed bomb to damage opponents, scan an enemy to reveal their location to your whole squad, or become a shield to absorb damage. It is a clever way to stay in the fight just a little bit longer.

The arsenal also gets a serious upgrade with the new Mortar. This explosive weapon gives players a massive tactical advantage with two firing modes. The first is Quick Strike, which is perfect for direct hits at closer ranges. Then there’s Precise Target, which lets you rain destruction on enemies far beyond your line of sight.

Finally, Krafton has also redesigned Lipovka on Erangel and added more realistic reload animations. The update is already out.
