ChatGPT has announced a new Health mode, targeted at enabling more meaningful and structured health-related conversations. This will be available as a dedicated space where users can discuss health topics with ChatGPT, using its intelligence for deeper and more contextual understanding.
ChatGPT Health and what it brings
ChatGPT Health is designed to address a common problem: health data scattered across apps, portals, PDFs, and reports. By allowing users to securely connect medical records and wellness apps, the platform can provide context-aware explanations of lab results, lifestyle patterns, and long-term trends.

Supported integrations include medical records through trusted partners, along with apps such as Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, Function, and Weight Watchers, depending on region and device. The idea is to help people prepare better for doctor appointments, understand test results in plain language, and make sense of daily health choices over time.
Importantly, Health is meant to support medical care, not replace it. It does not diagnose or prescribe treatment. Instead, it focuses on helping users feel informed and confident when speaking with clinicians, especially for routine questions, follow-ups, and wellness planning.
Privacy, security, and physician-led design
According to ChatGPT, medical conversations, connected apps, and files are isolated from regular chats, and health data does not flow back into non-health conversations.
Chats within Health are not used to train foundation models, and additional encryption and isolation layers are applied due to the sensitive nature of medical information. Users remain in control, with options to review or delete health memories and disconnect apps at any time.

The experience has been developed in close collaboration with physicians across multiple countries and specialties. Their input has shaped how responses are framed, when users are encouraged to consult a doctor, and how complex information is explained clearly. ChatGPT Health is being rolled out gradually, starting with a limited group of users, with wider availability planned on web and iOS in the coming weeks.
