Cyberpunk 2077 is free this weekend for the PS5: How to get it

Cyberpunk 2077 has bene one of those awaited games that was hammered by bugs on launch. However, in over three years since its launch, developer CD Projekt Red has announced a number of updates to the game which have gradually fixed most of what’s wrong with the title.

However, if you’re someone who was initially swayed away from the game due to bad reviews, and is still on the fence about purchasing the game, this weekend’s trial of the game may just be what you need. Here’s all you need to know.

Cyberpunk 2077 free trial

Cyberpunk 2077 is offering a free trial for console gamers this weekend, including both the Sony PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series S/X. This means anyone with the console will be able to get a full copy of the base game (no DLC) for a limited amount of time.

The offer starts at 8am, March 28 PDT and will go on till 11:59pm PDT, March 31 PDT. The game, once you download and install it, will be free to play for 5 hours of playtime. There is also no subscription required for anyone looking to play the title.

How to get Cyberpunk 2077 for free?

The download size for Cyberpunk 2077 is nearly 100GB on the PlayStation 5 and about 103GB on Xbox consoles. Once you have that sorted, all you need to do is go to the PlayStation Store and download the game.

After your 5 hours of gameplay are complete, the trial will stop working, and if you like the game by this point, you can go ahead and purchase the title. Unfortunately, the game is not offering a free trial for PC gamers yet, so anyone on a gaming laptop or desktop will not be able to make the most of the free trial.
