Find out which Fan Edition suits you better

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE vs Galaxy S24 FE: What’s changed?

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE is official, and since it’s new, it should obviously be the better option. But before you shell out more for the latest Fan Edition, it’s always worth comparing the features of its predecessor. After all, you might save money by going with the Galaxy S24 FE. But again, you might also miss out on some of the extra features.

To clear out the confusion, we are comparing the features of both the Fan Edition models, helping you make a more informed decision. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the Galaxy S25 FE vs S24 FE showdown.

Galaxy S25 FE v S24 FE: Design and display

From afar, the design of the new Galaxy S25 FE might not look a lot different, but it does have a more streamlined look. It uses the Galaxy S25+ as its base for the design bit, and that clearly shows up, thanks to its refined look, which many may embrace.

Both the S25 FE and S24 FE have the same flat look and a three-camera setup placed vertically on the back. The newer S25 FE, however, appears to have a sharper look and narrower bezels. The bottom chin is still visible, but not too prominent.

The duo uses a glass sandwiched design, with aluminium for the middle frame. Despite having a similar construction, the S25 FE is lighter at 190 grams, as opposed to the 213 grams of the S24 FE (one of the major pet peeves of the existing S24 FE users).

Durability is the same on both phones, i.e., the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. You also get Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both devices. The display size stays the same—6.7 inches. It’s a Dynamic 2X AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1,900 nits of peak brightness.

Galaxy S25 FE vs S24 FE: Cameras

While in design, there’s at least a subtle change of looks, but in terms of the cameras, things remain unchanged (at least on the specs sheet). Both the S25 FE and S24 FE feature a triple-rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide, and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom.

The front camera, however, has received an upgrade. The S25 FE gets a 12MP selfie snapper, whereas the S24 FE gets a 10MP unit. Both support 4K resolution from the front camera.

Galaxy S25 FE vs S24 FE: Performance, battery, software

As far as the performance is concerned, the Exynos 2400 powers the S25 FE and the S24 FE gets the ‘e’ version—Exynos 2400e. While both are 4nm chips, the latter is slightly toned down, but again, there may not be any noticeable real life differences, unless you game.

One area where the new S25 FE outshines is the battery and fast charging. It gets a larger 4,900mAh battery, which is 200mAh bigger than the S24 FE’s 4,700mAh cell. The fast charging speeds have also been improved to 45W wired and 25W wireless. The S24 FE has slow 24W wired and 15W wireless charging speeds.

The Galaxy S25 FE boots on the latest Android 16 operating system, instead of Android 15, which is a win-win situation, as you can use the phone longer. The S24 FE comes with Android 14 out of the box, although it has already received Android 15.

Both have seven years of OS and security updates, making them reliable in the long term. But since the Galaxy S25 FE is newer, it should last longer than the S24 FE. AI features on both phones remain the same, as they come with the feature-packed One UI skin.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE brings an improved design, a better selfie camera, a larger battery with faster charging speeds, and the latest OS. For all that, it’s a better option to get for around Rs 60,000.

However, if you get the S24 FE at a discounted price, say under Rs 45,000, then it’s probably a better deal, as you save about Rs 15,000 and do not compromise on core features like the rear camera and display.
