Samsung’s Galaxy S Ultra flagship has been popular because of its hardware, but one thing that sets it apart from other contenders is the S Pen. However, starting with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung removed the Bluetooth support for the S Pen.
Now, Samsung is making more changes to the S Pen. But thankfully, it isn’t going away if we go by the latest reports. Rather, it’s getting a redesign. One that makes it thinner and probably gripper to hold. Here’s what Samsung plans to do with the S Pen on the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra.
S Pen isn’t going away, after all
According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung isn’t doing away with the S Pen. Although several rumours highlighted that the S Pen could be ditched in the next Ultra flagship. What’s really happening with the S Pen is that it’s reportedly going to be a bit thinner.
The next iteration of the S Pen is expected to follow the design aesthetics of the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. Reports suggest that the S26 Ultra will be following a curvy design, as opposed to the boxy look of the existing S25 Ultra. It’s also said to be slimmer.
The S Pen that goes into it will also likely follow suit. A thin and slim S Pen may let Samsung pack a larger battery inside the S26 Ultra. Unfortunately, the exact details about the battery or the features available on the new S Pen are unknown.

The thinner S Pen, however, is unlikely to get back the Bluetooth features. As of now, details about the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the S Pen that goes into it are scarce. But we should learn more as we move closer to its release early next year.
