Samsung is expected to shift focus to its next-generation foldable phones in the second half of the year. After unveiling the Galaxy S26 series earlier this year, the brand may now be preparing to introduce multiple foldables, including a new wide-format device alongside the standard models.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event to be held in July
According to a new report, Samsung has reportedly decided to hold its next Unpacked event in London, UK. Scheduled to take place on July 22, the company may unveil as many as three foldable phones. Readers should note that the said date has not been confirmed by Samsung yet.
Apart from the usual Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, the lineup is said to include the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide (tentative name). Rumours suggest that Samsung has devised this wide foldable phone to counter the iPhone Ultra (or iPhone Fold), which is expected to debut in September this year.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide may support S Pen
The report also states that Samsung may offer S Pen support on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide in a bid to have an edge over the iPhone Ultra. It is expected to offer a 4:3 aspect ratio similar to Apple’s offering. Its thickness is said to be slimmer by 0.5mm compared to the iPhone Fold.
A recent report revealed that it may feature a 7.6-inch internal display and could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. Under the hood, it may feature a dual-cell battery with a total capacity of 4,800mAh.
Last year, the company unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, a triple-foldable phone, which was made in limited quantities. Therefore, there’s no clarity on whether the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will receive a wider launch.
