The battle for foldable supremacy is about to get a whole lot interesting with the likes of Samsung and Google readying to unveil their next-gen phones. If the latest rumour is anything to go by, the upcoming Google phone could have a feature that we have never seen on foldable phone before.
As per an Android Headlines report, the upcoming Google phone, likely to be called the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, is going to be the first-ever foldable phone with an IP68 rating. In simpler words, this phone will be resistant to water and dust.

We have seen foldables being protected against water, but very few against dust. Samsung and Motorola’s phones come to mind, which feature IP48 protection. But the IP68 protection on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold means it will be the highest level of protection against water (up to 1 metre for 30 minutes) and dust.
Interestingly, the report further adds that the crown for the first-ever dust-proof foldable may not necessarily go to Google. Samsung’s next-gen foldables, unveiling on July 9, could be the first to feature IP68 ratings.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Everything known so far
Rumours have suggested that Google is likely to tweak the design of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold this year. For starters, it could be getting an all-new hinge which will make the phone thinner and easier to hold.

The new hinge is also likely to help Google increase the size of the inner and outer displays while retaining the dimensions of last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Google’s next-gen Pixel 10 series is expected to be unveiled sometime in August this year. The series is again expected to have the standard Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro phones, alongside the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. It remains to be seen, if we also get to see new Buds and smartwatch from Google during the event.
