Indian hip-hop has officially entered the world of gaming with the same level of excitement we would expect. Rising rapper Hanumankind just dropped into Fortnite with his “Big Dawgs” emote, a confident, no-frills dance pulled straight from his breakout track. It’s now live in the Fortnite Item Shop, bringing desi swagger to one of the world’s most-played games.
Rollin' through the city with the big dawgs
The emote is a full-on cultural crossover. Powered by the bass-heavy beat of Big Dawgs and featuring choreography lifted directly from the music video, this addition marks a rare moment where music, movement, and global gaming culture converge authentically. It’s loud, proud, and unmistakably Indian.
Hip-hop and gaming have long flirted with each other, especially Fortnite, which, after years of release, still is a game that creates waves with every major update. From Travis Scott’s astronomical Fortnite concert to Snoop Dogg’s Call of Duty cameo, we have had it all.
But this is the first time an Indian rapper’s energy has been translated into a playable gesture on such a global scale. And it’s not a watered-down version either. Hanumankind’s signature presence which is defined by part street, part stage, all heart, is right there in every shoulder roll and stomp.
The collaboration with Epic Games is more than just a digital high-five. It’s a celebration of how independent music, especially from South Asia, is no longer waiting for a Western co-sign. We finally have a foot in the game, literally.

Not that long ago, right around the time, the rap song had just dropped, Hanumankind’s gritty visuals in ‘Big Dawgs’ were an underground statement. Today, they’re a global flex. From underground cyphers to virtual battlegrounds, it’s a massive step. Both for the artist and the scene he represents.
Gaming’s global, but these moves? They are a 100 per cent desi. Have you checked out the emote in-game yet? Do let us know what you think, and follow Unboxed by Croma for more.
