Instagram now lets you reshare stories even if you are not tagged; here’s how

Instagram has announced a new update for the platform that lets you reshare stories from any public profile. This means you can reshare stories of your friends or some celebrity even if you are not tagged. Cool right? Here’s all you need to know about the feature, and how you can use it.

How to reshare anyone’s and everyone's stories

Instagram took to Threads to announce this feature, and it’s rolling out to everyone. However, it may not hit your account immediately, as it could arrive in batches. But once you get it, you can follow the steps below to reshare all stories.

Step 1: Open Instagram on your Android and iPhone.

Step 2: Go to the story that you want to reshare.

Step 3: Hit the share button and tap‘Add to your story’ option.

That’s how you can easily reshare stories on your profile.

How to restrict others from resharing your stories

Now, if you are a celebrity or don’t want others to reshare your stories, then you can also disable the feature. Here’s how.

Step 1: Open Settings & Activity, and tap on Privacy.

Step 2: Select Story and toggle off the ‘Allow sharing to story’ option.
