iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 now rolling out for compatible Apple iPhones and iPads

Apple has released iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 today. The latest stable version of the operating systems brings plenty of new features for compatible iPhones and iPads. The fourth iteration of the software update comes with identical new features. Read on to know what the version offers to users.

iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4: New features 

iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 introduce a significant update to Apple Music with the ability to discover nearby concerts from artists in the library. There’s also full-page album artwork and ambient music widget for sleep, chill, productivity, and wellbeing.

The app also supports offline music recognition in the control centre. Apple Music also comes with Playlist Playground, currently in beta stage that generates a playlist based on a prompt.

The latest software update adds eight new emojis including trombone, treasure chest, distorted face, hairy creature, fight cloud, orca, landslide, and ballet dancer. Apple Creator Studio now supports freeform. The Podcast app also gains native video support with HLS streaming.

Apple has also fixed a bug with keyboard accuracy while typing fast. Reminders can now be marked urgent and there are improved filtering options in Smart Lists. 

iOS 26.4 also makes some improvements on the accessibility front. It reduces bright flashes when tapping buttons, improved subtitles and caption controls, and reduced motion setting for users sensitive to screen motion. The update also enables Stolen Device protection by default and adds support for third-party AI chatbots within CarPlay.

Meanwhile, iPadOS 26.4 now lets you use a compact tab bar in Safari and adds a ‘hidden windows’ popup to avoid losing track of open windows 

iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 can be updated by going to Device Settings > General > Software update.
