iQOO 15 revealed with colour-shifting back ahead of launch

The next iQOO flagship isn’t here yet, but it’s already making a spectacle of itself. The company has officially revealed the design of the upcoming iQOO 15, and this is no ordinary slab of glass and metal. Forget simple gradients, the back panel itself changes colour depending on how light hits it, making the phone look like it’s dressed for the club before it’s even powered on.

And in true iQOO fashion, the party tricks don’t stop with the paint job. A chunky square camera island holds a “100x tele lens”, which likely means it will get 100x digital zoom. Alongside this, the phone will likely come with 50MP wide and ultrawide cameras.

iQOO 15: Flagship firepower under the skin

Beyond the flashy design reveal, the iQOO 15 is armed to the teeth. Under the hood, the phone is expected to house Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip paired with up to 16GB RAM, plus iQOO’s own Q3 gaming chip for extra muscle. It will also be one of the first devices to roll out with Android 16-based OriginOS 6.

Reports suggest the display will be a 6.8-inch Samsung AMOLED with 2K resolution, the kind of panel that can make Reels and YouTube streams feel cinematic. An ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader is likely to keep things secure, while an 8K vapour chamber cooling system hints at marathon gaming sessions without sweaty palms.

If you thought the theatrics ended with the design reveal, the battery story might surprise you. The phone will allegedly come packing a huge 7,000mAh cell, supported by 100W wired and wireless charging.

With pre-reservations already open in China and a launch announcement likely around the corner, iQOO is clearly setting the stage for one of the boldest flagships of the year. However, there’s no word yet on when the phone will make its way to India. If you’re looking for a capable high-end phone in the meantime, consider the sister company’s Vivo X200 FE, or even the OnePlus 13.

Coming back to the iQOO 15, it looks promising. A colour-shifting shell, beastly internals, and unapologetically loud styling, it looks like the phone that will definitely grab eyeballs. What are your thoughts? Are you waiting for the iQOO 15? Drop a comment to let us know.
