JBL Boombox 4 announced with AI-upgraded sound, longer battery life

JBL has launched its next iteration of the popular Boombox speaker. The new JBL Boombox 4 comes in a portable design, yet offers punchier sound with 210W output and a battery that lasts for hours. Additionally, it also supports the AI Sound Boost algorithm for an enhanced audio experience. Here’s everything you need to know.

All about the JBL Boombox 4

The Boombox 4 is around 12 per cent lighter than the Boombox 3, and yet JBL has retained the rugged outdoor-ready look. It comes in Black, Blue, and Camouflage finishes, making it as stylish as it is functional.

The Bluetooth speaker features a seven-driver system with dual 5.25-inch woofers, dual 0.75-inch tweeters, and three passive radiators. When plugged in, it pushes 210W of sound, and on battery, it still delivers 180W.

JBL has added AI Sound Boost to optimise audio in real time, along with a two-level bass boost for when you want that extra punch. The highlight is the 99Wh battery that offers up to 34 hours of playback on a single charge. It also doubles as a power bank, letting you charge your phone and other devices on the go.

With Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast, the Boombox 4 can connect to other JBL speakers or pair two devices at once. The USB-C port comes with a built-in DAC for high-quality wired audio, and the IP67 rating ensures durability against dust and water.

The JBL Boombox 4 is a premium Bluetooth speaker that costs CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 48,600) in China. Global availability has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to launch soon in India.
