Lenovo’s new Legion laptops bring RTX 4090 graphics and AI-tuning

The Lenovo Legion series has produced some of the best gaming laptops when it comes to value-for-money. Now, the brand has launched a new range of Legion gaming laptops, which come with updated specifications, including the 14th Gen Intel Core processors and up to Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics.

The new series includes 2024 variants of the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i, as well as the Legion 7i and the Legion 5i. Here’s all you need to know about each of these machines.

Lenovo Legion Pro 5i, Legion Pro 7i key features

The Pro series offer more power and features. Both the Legion Pro 5i and the Legion Pro 7i come with up to Intel Core i9 14900HX processors and Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics. This is accompanied by 32GB DDR5 memory.

The Legion Pro 5i offers 200W TDP while the Legion Pro 7I offers 235W TDP, so gamers won’t need to worry about any power bottlenecks on these laptops. This is also coupled with Lenovo’s own LA AI chipsets that use artificial intelligence to tune the performance of your machine and improve framerates and power efficiency during gaming.

Both the Pro 7i and Pro 5i also get features like 245Hz variable refresh rate displays with 500 nits brightness, a recycled aluminium design, and signature Legion features like the TrueStrike keyboard. There is also rapid charging support and Tobii Horizon and Aware for head tracking in supported games.

Lenovo Legion 5i, Legion 7i key features

The Lenovo Legion 5i and Legion 7i laptops are powered by the Intel Core i9 14900HX chipset along with Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics. The laptops come with some signature Legion series features like PureSight display, TrueStrike keyboards and the ‘Coldfront: Hyper’ thermal cooling.

The laptops come also come with AI chips of their own, with the Legion 5i getting the LA1 AI chip and the Legion 7i getting the LA3 AI chip. Both laptops also come with the big batteries, with the Legion 5i sporting an 80Whr battery and the Legion 7i sporting a 99.99Whr battery.

Lenovo Legion laptops pricing and availability

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i starts at Rs 3,24,990, while the Legion Pro 5i starts at Rs 1,57,990. Meanwhile the non-Pro Legion 5i and Legion 7i start at Rs 1,29,990 and Rs 1,77,990. Other gaming laptops in this range that you can also consider include the Asus ROG Zephyrus series and the Dell Alienware M series.

Lenovo lets you customise your build with its ‘Customise your PC’ program that lets you deck your Legion out with the exact specifications you want, so your final price may vary. If you want to opt for one of the standard variants, the laptops will be available with major online and offline retailers.
