LG turns your smart TV into a gaming console with Xbox Cloud support in India

LG is giving gaming a stylish new home in India; it’s your living room TV! The South Korean electronics giant has officially rolled out Xbox Cloud Gaming support to its smart TVs, making console-level gaming possible without, well, a console.

If you’ve got a recent LG smart TV, a compatible controller, and a decent internet connection, you’re now just an app away from diving into titles like Halo, Call of Duty, or Forza Horizon, all without plugging in a single box.

A new gaming hub built into your TV

The secret sauce is LG’s new Gaming Portal, a dedicated hub baked into webOS that combines content from multiple partners, including Microsoft’s Xbox app. It opens a door to over 4,000 Xbox titles, with about 600 free single and multiplayer games available to try, making it one of the most accessible gaming services currently offered in the country.

Through Xbox Cloud Gaming and Game Pass, players can stream blockbuster titles directly to their TV. That means no downloads, no long hardware setups, and no expensive console sitting beneath your screen.

Pair a controller, fire up the Xbox app, and you’re in. It’s a neat upgrade for casual players and a tempting option for those who have skipped buying the latest console.

Who gets it, and how to get started

This update is rolling out to LG smart TVs running webOS that launched between 2021 and 2025. So, most recent LG OLEDs, QNEDs, and NanoCell models are likely covered. Just update your TV software, open the Gaming Portal, sign in to your Xbox Game Pass account, and you’re set for cloud-powered play.
