Logitech K980 solar keyboard is now available in India

Logitech has launched the K980 solar keyboard in India, a couple of months following its global launch.  This wireless keyboard completely ditches charging cables and swappable batteries. Instead, it gets a built-in cell that recharges using any ambient light source.

A keyboard that can run forever

Enabling this technology is the company’s Logi LightCharge technology. This can sip power not just from sunlight but even something as dim as an indoor lamp. It needs a minimum of just 200 lux to get going.

Once the K980 is fully juiced up, Logitech claims it can operate in complete darkness for an impressive four months. The battery is also rated to survive a decade of use. It’s also safely user-replaceable and can get spare parts supplied via iFixit.

Moving on to design, the K980 is a full-size keyboard with a low-profile design, scissor-switch keys, and a number pad. The weight stands at 700 grams.

The K980 connects to up to three devices via Bluetooth, letting you hop between them with its Easy-Switch keys. It also supports a Logi Bolt USB receiver, though one isn’t included in the box with the standard models.
