Microsoft has taken the wraps off their latest additions to its Copilot+ PC lineup, the new Surface Laptop (13-inch) and Surface Pro (12-inch). Starting at $899 (approx. Rs 76,000) and $799 (approx. Rs 68,000) respectively, both devices bring flagship-level performance, premium design, and cutting-edge AI experiences to more people, at relatively lower price points.
Surface Laptop 13 and Surface Pro: What makes these devices special?
Powered by the Snapdragon X Plus processor with a built-in 45 TOPS NPU, these ultra-thin, lightweight machines are designed to run AI locally, delivering faster performance, longer battery life, and improved responsiveness. Microsoft says the Surface Laptop is 50 per cent faster than its predecessor and even outpaces the MacBook Air M3, with up to 23 hours of video playback. Meanwhile, the new Surface Pro weighs just 1.5 pounds and retains its iconic 2-in-1 flexibility, complete with a redesigned keyboard and improved Slim Pen integration.

Both devices feature vibrant touchscreens, AI-enhanced cameras, and adaptive touchpads. The Copilot key offers instant access to Microsoft’s AI assistant, while features like Recall, Click to Do, and enhanced search aim to redefine productivity. New AI tools such as Photos Relight and the Settings Agent, launching first to Windows Insiders, further deepen the experience.
Microsoft is also emphasising sustainability. The new Surface devices use 100 per cent recycled cobalt in battery cells and offer improved repairability, supporting a more circular product lifecycle.
From seamless multitasking to creative workflows, the new Surface Laptop and Pro are built for what’s next. With apps like Capcut, Davinci Resolve, and Moises AI now optimised for the NPU, Microsoft is signalling a clear shift toward locally powered, AI-first computing.
