Despite rumours suggesting otherwise, Nothing is not letting go of its signature Glyph on the Phone (3). Instead, it’s said to be upgrading to what it calls the ‘Glyph Matrix’.
As the name suggests, it’s going to be a dot matrix display, again placed on the back of the Nothing Phone (3). The latest teaser also further hints at how it could be different from the Glyph.
All about the Glyph Matrix on the Nothing Phone (3)
The Nothing Phone (3) will debut two years after the release of the Phone (2). And as you’d expect, it’s bringing nothing but upgrades. While the internet was concerned about the removal of the Glyph interface, Nothing has confirmed that it’s revamping it to Glyph Matrix.
Nothing’s Glyph Matrix is basically a dot matrix display placed on the rear of the Nothing Phone (3). Instead of having lights all over the back, Nothing’s keeping it cleaner this time with a dot matrix screen on the upper right side.
What’s great about the Glyph Matrix is that it can display icons, shapes, and possibly text. And it could turn out to be very useful for some. So, instead of a bar that shows the ETA of your Uber, you may directly see the ETA in numerical form on the Glyph Matrix. Well, this is just what we expect to see with the upgraded Glyph Matrix, but the exact usage remains to be seen.

Other than this, the Phone (3) will be built on the design of its predecessor, yet will have a couple of design differences. It may have three cameras now, including a dedicated telephoto sensor.
Performance-wise, it’s confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. It will get five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.
That’s all we know so far about the Nothing Phone (3). The smartphone will debut on July 1 and is expected to come alongside Nothing’s first over-ear headphones. Expect it to be priced around the Rs 60,000 mark in India.
