Oppo Reno 15, Reno 15 Pro launched with 200MP triple cameras, bigger batteries

After announcing the Find X9 series as its premium photography-focused flagship lineup last month in China, Oppo has now unveiled the more affordable Reno 15 series in the country. Unlike the previous generation, the Reno 15 has been reduced in size, making it a more compact model with a 6.3-inch display. Despite its smaller form factor, it offers powerful internals, including a large battery and a 200MP triple camera setup. Here’s a look at what the Reno 15 series brings to the table.

Oppo Reno 15, Reno 15 Pro: Specifications and features

The Oppo Reno 15 features a 6.32-inch OLED screen, whereas the Reno 15 Pro offers a larger 6.78-inch display. Both screens deliver an immersive 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The phones come with dual speakers, an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor usually seen in higher-end models, and run on the latest ColorOS 16-based Android. Audiophiles will appreciate the dual speaker setup.

The Reno 15 and 15 Pro inherit the Dimensity 8450 chipset that previously powered the Reno 14 Pro. The chip promises smooth performance and handles gaming well without major issues. It is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

Under the hood, the Reno 15 houses a 6,200mAh battery, while the Pro model gets an even bigger 6,500mAh unit. Both support 80W wired charging, but the Pro model additionally offers 50W wireless charging.

For selfies, the Oppo Reno 15 and Reno 15 Pro include a 50MP front camera with support for 4K video recording. On the back, both phones are equipped with a 200MP Samsung HP5 main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. The same primary camera is also available on the Vivo V60e, which debuted last month in India.

Other features on the Reno 15 duo include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an IR blaster and a USB-C port. The series features a metal middle frame and an IP68/69-rated dust and water-resistant body, ensuring strong overall durability.
