Panasonic just dropped a pair of powerful new full-frame mirrorless cameras, the Lumix S1II and S1IIE, on the Indian market. The two cameras are aimed squarely at India’s booming creator economy. Let’s check out what they have to offer.
Advanced recording features on both models
The Lumix S1II is built around a brand new 24.1-megapixel partially stacked CMOS sensor and Panasonic’s Venus Engine. This new tech allows it to pump out video at a blistering 5.1K at 60 frames per second and even 4K at 120 fps for some slick slow-motion.
Photographers can also capture blackout-free bursts at 70fps, while filmmakers get a generous 15 stops of dynamic range when shooting in V-Log below 30fps.
Then there’s the Lumix S1IIE, a more cinematically-inclined sibling. This borrows the 24.2MP sensor from the popular Lumix S5II design. Its main highlight is the capability to record 6K open-gate at 30 fps, which should give editors a massive canvas for reframing shots in post-production without losing quality.
It also delivers over 14 stops of dynamic range and supports blackout-free continuous shooting up to 30 fps with its electronic shutter.

Both models share some impressive core features that elevate them to professional tools. A sophisticated Phase Hybrid autofocus system gets an AI boost for tracking everything from eyes to complex subject motion with a new ‘Urban Sports’ mode. Shaky footage should be a thing of the past thanks to a powerful 8.0-stop in-body image stabilisation system that works alongside cropless electronic stabilisation.
Moreover, the cameras can internally record Apple ProRes RAW HQ directly to CFexpress Type B cards. This is a feature that usually requires expensive external recorders. High-end productions can even unlock ARRI LogC3 output with a software key. Both models also sport dual card slots for both SD and CFexpress media. Finally, these cameras are also built tough, rated to operate down to a chilly −10-degrees C.
The Lumix S1II is available now for Rs. 3,29,990 and the S1IIE comes in at Rs. 2,69,990.
