Perplexity’s Deep Research tool can tackle most tasks in under 3 minutes; here’s how it works

Artificial intelligence is booming today and platforms are taking this opportunity to best each other with advanced upgrades every now and then. In more recent news, Perplexity AI has also extended new features to its expanding user base. The company mentioned how it will allow users to make the most of its Deep Research tool for free, which is capable of performing a dozen searches across hundreds of sources in only three minutes. According to the platform, Deep Research is aimed at helping users save hours of their time by performing in-depth research and analysis on their behalf. The tool remains similar to what the other AI giants offer today. That said, CEO Aravind Srinivas states how Perplexity Pro users will have access to 500 queries per day. Free users, on the other hand, will have access to a limited number of questions per day.

The brand goes on to state how Deep Research performs ‘dozens of searches’ across the web and refers to over hundreds of sources online. This process is built similar to that of a human researcher looking up a topic on the internet. Once the research is complete, the AI assistant will summarise the information in a ‘clear and comprehensive’ report for its users.

According to Perplexity, the tool can give users ‘expert’ level insights and analysis varying across a wide range of complicated topics. Some of these include finance, marketing as well as technology. It also goes on to state that the tool can double up as a ‘personal consultant’ for those looking for assistance in product research or travel planning.

When will Deep Research on Perplexity AI be available for everyone?

The AI tool is already made available for both new and Pro users on Perpexity’s website. While it is currently not available for Android and iOS app users, the company mentions how it has plans in the pipeline to gradually roll out to all its smartphone users.
