To calculate the power consumption of your air cooler, the first step is to find its rated power. If the manual or product label doesn’t list the rated power, you can calculate it yourself using the formula: Power Consumption (in watts) = Voltage (in volts) x Current (in amperes).

You can find both the values for voltage and current either on the product label or in the user manual that comes with the unit. Once you have the voltage and current ratings, simply multiply them together using the above formula to get the air cooler’s power consumption in watts. You can then convert the power consumption to kilowatts (kW) by dividing it by 1000 (1 kW = 1000 watts). And that’s how you can calculate the power consumption of your air coolers at home.

To know how much it adds to your monthly electricity bill, you will need to figure out the number of kilowatts consumed by the cooler in a month and multiply it by per unit cost of electricity in your area.
