Meta’s smart specs blend iconic fashion with futuristic AI – and they’re almost here

Ray-Ban Meta glasses are landing in India with brains, style, and no strings attached

Meta is ready to bring a touch of sci-fi to your style. Developed in collaboration with global eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica, the launch is part of a wider global rollout that also includes Mexico and the UAE.

The Ray-Ban Meta Glasses have been available in the US market for a while now, but with a wider rollout, they could become a staple across the globe. While the exact price and release date are still under wraps, one thing’s clear: the future of wearable tech just got a lot more fashionable.

Ray-Ban Meta Glasses: A classic look, now with AI

Think of these as your regular Ray-Bans – but smarter. A follow-up to the earlier Ray-Ban Stories, these smart glasses offer voice-powered Meta AI packed into a frame that still looks effortlessly cool. Whether you’re skipping songs, asking for the weather, or snapping a hands-free video, the glasses respond to your voice – no phone in hand, no fuss.

Messaging and social media get an upgrade too. You’ll soon be able to send texts, DMs, and even photos straight from your glasses via Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and more. That means capturing your Sunday stroll or morning coffee run just got way more seamless.

Ray-Ban Meta Glasses: Travel-friendly, music-ready, and multilingual

One of the more impressive updates is the live translation feature, which is now expanding beyond its early access zones. Once you download the relevant language packs, it works even without Wi-Fi; a handy tool for jetsetters or anyone navigating multilingual spaces.

Music lovers aren’t left behind either. Meta is widening access to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Shazam. This gives users across more regions (India included) the ability to identify tracks and control playback; all through simple voice commands.

And in the US and parts of Europe, Meta is piloting a wild new feature called “see what you see” where the AI assistant can interpret what’s in front of your eyes and offer relevant info or help. While it hasn’t made its way to India yet, it hints at where smart glasses could be headed next.

Ray-Ban Meta Glasses: The design

The glasses don’t compromise on looks either. The latest Skyler frames include chic new options like the Shiny Chalky Gray with Transitions Sapphire lenses, which change tint based on lighting.

For those who prefer a more classic vibe, there’s always Shiny Black with green G15 lenses or minimalist clear lenses. It’s the Ray-Ban silhouette you know, just hiding some seriously smart tech inside.
