The wearables segment is currently booming, with brands introducing bleeding-edge technologies and opening doors to a whole new spectrum of devices. After Noise, Samsung took the wraps off its Galaxy Ring, taking its health wearables lineup up a notch.

While it hasn’t been long since the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses were unveiled to the public, Version 2.0 software has already been rolled out for users. With notable camera and performance improvements, this version will be gradually rolling out for users. Here’s what we know about the update:

Ray-Ban Meta glasses Version 2.0 software update: What's new?

Meta, for starters, has introduced a low-light performance update. This will include reduced noise and enable auto exposure for sharper-looking images. Meta has also reportedly added a feature which will allow users to record videos while moving. Known as ‘on-the-go captures’, these videos will have a more dynamic range and additionally be detailed.

Apart from this, the smart glasses will also feature audio and volume improvements. This addition will let users control the volume and music playback by swiping up and down on the smart glasses’ touchpad located at the temple. Lastly, the Ray-Ban Meta glasses will feature ‘Security and Stability improvements’; however, there’s no clarity on what Meta includes within this change.

Who can update the Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

According to Meta, the update will be auto-updated on your smart glasses. In case you don’t have it switched on, you can navigate to the Meta view app on your smartphone. Then, tap on Glass & Privacy > Your Glasses > Updates. Once you tap on Install Update, it should be available on the smart glasses. Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are currently not available in India; however, they can be purchased from the official website at $300 onwards (approximately Rs 24,900).
