Samsung Galaxy Ring to reportedly launch in the second half of 2024; here’s all we know

As it turned out, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series wasn’t all Samsung had in store for its fans at the Galaxy Unpacked event last month. The company, alongside the smartphones, also teased its new Galaxy Ring.

The Galaxy Ring is being touted as a simpler, more minimalist alternative to a smartwatch. However, Samsung hadn’t divulged any details about its features and specifications, pricing, or launch dates — until now. Read on to find out more.

Samsung Galaxy Ring: Expected launch date

Daniel Seung Lee, who is a senior executive at Samsung, recently announced that the Samsung Galaxy Ring will be launched in the second half of this year, via a LinkedIn post. Now, rumours are that the wearable could possibly be revealed alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, which are mostly released sometime in July or August. However, this hasn’t been confirmed by Samsung as of yet.

Samsung Galaxy Ring: Expected features and specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is expected to feature ECG and PPG tracking capabilities, and even be able to control your other smart home devices. The data that the ring collects, is expected to be accessible via the Samsung Health app. What’s more, the Galaxy Ring is also expected to feature compatibility with Samsung Galaxy Watches and XR devices, in addition to smartphones.

A few weeks ago, tech analyst Avi Greengart leaked a few details regarding the Galaxy Ring as well on Threads. According to him, the ring will be available in sizes of anywhere up to 13 and is going to be offered in three finishes. Only one was teased at the image, however – one in Silver.

Again, all of the above information is based on rumours and speculations and must be viewed as such.

As mentioned earlier, there is no word on the exact launch dates for the ring yet, neither is anything known about its pricing.

The only two companies that sell smart rings in India currently happen to be boAt and Noise, with the boAt Smart Ring and the Noise Luna Ring, priced at Rs 8,999 and Rs 18,999 respectively.
