Realme may soon expand the 16 series lineup by announcing the standard Realme 16 in India. The device has passed the BIS certification, which is an important hurdle to clear before its release in the country. While it is a brand-new phone for the Indian market, its specifications are no secret, as it has already launched in Vietnam recently.
Realme 16 BIS certified
A Realme smartphone bearing the model number RMX5171 has surfaced in the database of India’s BIS certification platform. While the listing does not reveal the name of the device, its official listings in Vietnam have confirmed that it is associated with the Realme 16.
Realme 16 specifications
One of the most talked-about aspects of the Realme 16 is its appearance, particularly the rear design, which features an iPhone Air-like horizontal camera module. The twist here is the inclusion of a selfie mirror alongside the 50MP + 2MP dual rear camera setup. For selfies, the phone is equipped with a 50MP front camera.
The Realme 16 features a 6.57-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display with up to 4,200 nits of peak brightness and an integrated fingerprint sensor. It runs on Realme UI 7 based on Android 16 and is powered by the Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset.
The Realme 16 comes with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM, 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and a 7,000mAh battery with support for 80W charging. It also offers additional features such as dual speakers, an IR blaster, and an IP68/IP69/IP69K-rated dust and water-resistant chassis.
Realme 16 price in India (expected)
The above specifications suggest that the Realme 16 could be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000. A previous leak revealed that it could be available in two variants in India, such as 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB. The phone may also arrive in two colour options: Air Black and Air White.
