Samsung announces surprise Galaxy event in September, days before new iPhone launch

Samsung has announced that it will hold an online Galaxy Event on September 4 to unveil fresh Galaxy hardware and a further push for Galaxy AI. The company said the livestream will begin at 11:30 am CEST (3:00 pm IST), and you can watch on Samsung.com or the official Samsung YouTube channel.

New S25 FE and premium Tab S11 tablets headline the show

Samsung is putting Galaxy AI front and centre, while the hardware slate looks familiar from recent leaks. The headline phone is expected to be the Galaxy S25 FE, which reportedly comes with a 6.7 inch Full HD plus Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, a 120Hz refresh rate and roughly 382 pixels per inch.

Under the hood the S25 FE appears to use Samsung’s own Exynos 2400 rather than a Snapdragon chip, paired with about 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Software will arrive on day one, with Android 16 and One UI 8 preinstalled. Camera rumours point to a triple rear array led by a 50MP main sensor. Battery capacity is said to be about 4,900mAh with 45 watt wired charging and 25W wireless charging reported.

On the tablet side Samsung looks set to introduce the Galaxy Tab S11 series, likely consisting of a Tab S11 and a Tab S11 Ultra, with no Plus model this year. Reports place MediaTek Dimensity 9400 class chips inside these tablets, which will also ship with Android 16 and One UI 8 and lean heavily on AI features and tighter integration across Galaxy devices.
