Samsung Galaxy A07 5G entry-level phone debuts with 6 years of Android upgrades

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy A07 5G in Southeast Asian markets, including the Philippines and Malaysia. One of the key highlights of the phone is Samsung’s promise of six years of Android OS upgrades and security updates, despite it being an entry-level 5G offering. The Galaxy A07 5G features a 6.7-inch LCD display with a waterdrop notch design. The screen offers an HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 800 nits of brightness in HBM mode. The phone ships with One UI 8, though it remains unclear whether it runs Android 15 or Android 16 out of the box.

The Galaxy A07 5G is powered by the Dimensity 6300 chipset, which has become a common choice for budget 5G smartphones across brands. The device ships with up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage, and also includes a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

It packs a large 6,000mAh battery with support for 15W charging. On the camera front, the phone features a 50MP + 2MP dual rear camera setup and an 8MP front-facing camera. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

In Malaysia, the Galaxy A07 5G is priced at RM 699 (~Rs 16,300) for the 6GB+128GB variant, while the 8GB+256GB model costs RM 949 (~Rs 22,130). The device is available in Light Green, Light Violet, and Light Black colour options.

Samsung Galaxy A07 5G India launch soon

Samsung has also begun teasing the Galaxy A07 5G’s arrival in India. The phone is scheduled to debut in the first week of February and is expected to be priced at around Rs 11,000, similar to its predecessor. At this price point, it is likely to compete with smartphones such as the Redmi 15C 5G and Vivo T4 Lite 5G.
