6 OS upgrades at a price that barely stings

Samsung Galaxy A07 is an entry-level phone with flagship-level software support

Samsung has taken the wraps off the Galaxy A07 in Indonesia as quite possibly its cheapest phone for 2025. The base model costs IDR 13,99,000 which is about Rs 7,500. Three higher trims come above this, topping out at IDR 22,99,000 (approx Rs 12,400) for the 8GB + 256GB variant.

A bargain 4G Samsung with six OS upgrades

The pitch is simple. This is a budget Samsung that trims the right corners while keeping software support that beats rivals by a huge margin.

The hardware reads sensible rather than showy. A 6.7-inch LCD serves HD Plus resolution at 90Hz with a small U shaped notch. MediaTek’s Helio G99 runs the show and you can pick from 4GB to 8GB of RAM with storage up to 256GB. A microSD slot lets you stretch that to 2TB.

For photography, the rear carries a 50MP main alongside a 2MP macro lens. Selfies come from an 8MP unit. A 5,000mAh battery handles power and fills at up to 25W.

The shell gets an IP54 rating for dust and splash and the back uses glass fibre reinforced polymer which keeps weight to 184 grams. Dimensions land at 164.4 x 77.4 x 7.6mm. Colour choices are black, green, and light violet.

The real flex is software. The Galaxy A07 ships with One UI 7.0 based on Android 15 and Samsung promises six OS upgrades along with six years of security updates. That takes a tiny price and gives it a long runway which is rare in this tier.

Connectivity stays on 4G LTE with dual-SIM, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB C and a headphone jack. There is no fingerprint sensor and there is no 5G which helps explain the sticker price.

For now, the launch is limited to Indonesia but you can bet it will be launching in India soon, likely at a similar price.
