Samsung Galaxy tri-fold may soon launch globally

Samsung is already a market leader for dual-fold foldable phones, and now, it’s time to shift its focus to tri-fold devices.

Samsung has been showcasing its triple-fold screens for years, but it has never made a tri-fold phone commercially available. As per old reports, the upcoming tri-fold phone from Samsung was speculated to get a limited release, i.e., in select markets like China and Korea.

But the latest reports reveal that the Galaxy tri-fold may go global and could be available in more regions, including the US.

All about the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold

Samsung is expected to launch the tri-fold soon, and may go official as early as this year. Some reports point out October as the release month.

What’s exciting is that it won’t be a region test, but rather a full-fledged launch in multiple regions like the UAE, the US, the UK, and others. However, it’s still unclear if it will launch in India.

As for its specifications, expect nothing but top-notch hardware. This includes the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which could be the new Gen 5. It may get 16GB of RAM and feature a large screen (likely 10-inch) that supports three folds. The device is rumoured to get a titanium frame for a sturdier build and may run Android 16-based One UI 8.

These specs surely look enticing, and we can’t wait for the phone’s official launch. The Galaxy tri-fold will likely be pricier than the Z Fold 7, however. It will compete with the likes of Huawei in China and Europe.
