Next Samsung foldable could borrow S25 Ultra’s camera

Although Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup is meant for premium users, it doesn’t come with the most premium set of cameras. Usually, Samsung keeps the best camera for its Ultra phone from the Galaxy S series.

Now, however, it appears that the upcoming Samsung foldable may borrow the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s main camera. This will make it a huge upgrade over the existing Galaxy Z Fold 6. If you are saving up for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, read on to know more about the phone.

Everything we know so far about the Galaxy Z Fold 7

According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 may feature a 200MP main camera. This will most likely be the same sensor as the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The new 200MP 1/1.3-inch sensor will replace the 50MP 1/1.57-inch sensor, which has been a standard on all recent Galaxy Folds.

Having said that, expect some camera upgrades. In addition to the main sensor, the device should have an ultra-wide and a telephoto sensor. This time around, Samsung is also expected to make the camera rings a bit bolder, just like the S25 Ultra.

Other than this, the device is expected to have two displays with high refresh rate support. As per a tipster, the Z Fold 7 could boast an ultra-thin design, measuring just 8.9mm when folded.

For comparison, the Z Fold 6 measures 12.2mm in thickness. Despite the Fold 7’s thinner form factor, it’s said to retain the 4,400mAh battery.

In terms of performance, the next foldable may come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite for Galaxy. Some reports also point to the Exynos 2500 chipset. It may boot on Android 15 out of the box with One UI 6 on top.

That’s all we know so far about the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The foldable phone is expected to debut in the coming months alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7. It’s unclear if Samsung will hike the prices or keep them unchanged.
