Samsung’s next big software leap, One UI 8, is inching closer to a stable release, and if you own a Samsung Galaxy device, it might be worth keeping your eyes peeled. In true Samsung fashion, the company is taking its time, refining the experience before pushing out its Android 16-based custom skin to the masses. The second beta of One UI 8 has just begun rolling out in select regions, a month after the first beta quietly made its debut.
Users in South Korea, the UK, and Germany are now getting a taste of the update, which clocks in at a hefty 1.2GB and carries build numbers like S938NKSU4ZYF3 – not exactly memorable, but par for the course.
When will the stable version of One UI 8.0 rollout?
While Samsung hasn’t put a pin on the global release date, all signs point to July, right after the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. That’s when the company is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, which will reportedly ship with One UI 8 straight out of the box. Think of these foldables as the poster children for Samsung’s next-gen software.

For everyone else, especially users in India, the wait might stretch just a bit longer. Samsung hasn’t shared an official rollout plan. Still, if past updates are any indication, India is likely to fall into the early wave once the stable build starts rolling out globally.
What’s in the update?
While Samsung hasn’t released exhaustive patch notes, the Android 16 underpinnings suggest improvements in AI-powered suggestions, privacy features, and a cleaner UI with enhanced lock screen customisation.
Samsung is likely layering its own Galaxy-specific upgrades on top, so expect smart multitasking, camera enhancements, and deeper Galaxy ecosystem integration.
