2025 is officially the year of big battery phones. We have seen commercially available phones with as big of a battery as 7,200mAh. What’s next? You may ask. Well, Realme has a surprise for all the power users out there.
The latest Realme GT concept phone packs a whopping 10,000mAh battery, which may just make power banks feel like a thing of the past. Intrigued? Here’s everything you need to know about the latest Realme concept phone.
All about the Realme GT 10000mAh concept
Realme has teased the launch of a new concept phone that might double up as a power bank (i.e., with reverse charging). The Realme GT concept packs a 10,000mAh battery, which is basically an entire power bank stuffed inside.
However, despite housing such a giant battery, the actual concept phone weighs just over 200 grams. It’s also thin at 8.5 grams. But how is that even possible? Well, Realme says that the concept phone uses an ultra-high-density silicon anode battery that packs 10 per cent silicon content. This ensures a high energy density of 887Wh/L.
So, essentially, the size of the battery is almost the same as a regular battery, but it’s able to hold a lot of charge. That’s exactly how this particular concept from Realme is able to hold a 10,000mAh battery inside while being comparatively thin.
Do we need phones with 10,000mAh battery?
Now, the question is – is it healthy and do we even need a phone with a 10,000mAh battery? A bigger battery essentially means a better screen on time. What this means is you could get days of battery life. However, Realme hasn’t revealed anything about the safety checks here, and that’s probably why it’s a concept for now and not a commercially available device.
Whether or not we need a phone with a 10,000mAh battery is a question you can ask yourself. If you end up looking for a battery pack to charge your device more often, then a 10,000mAh phone might just solve your hunt for a battery pack.

But hold up, this is just a concept. Although the Realme GT 7, which is due for an India launch, is arriving with a 7,200mAh battery, which is still pretty big. Good thing is that it will be commercially available in India upon launch. If a big battery phone manages to be thin and light, then it’s a win for all of us, given all the safety checks are ensured.
Other than Realme, there are many other brands launching big battery phones, like OnePlus, Oppo, and others. These phones use the new battery tech called silicon carbon batteries that replace graphite with silicon in the cathode material, which results in a better storage capacity.
What do you think about this Realme GT concept and big battery phones in general? Do you think it may make power banks obsolete? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
