Vivo’s upcoming X300 could be going the iPhone route where the base vanilla model comes in a compact body. A tipster has claimed that the new phone could make the separate “Pro Mini” version (sold in India as the FE) pretty much redundant.
Vivo X300 could ditch the “Pro Mini”
Leaks have suggested that the X300 is expected to launch in September, equipped with MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9500 chipset and a beefy 200MP main camera. But this time, the regular X300 might be small enough to fit into the “best compact flagship” club all on its own.

A leakster dropped the hint that Vivo’s X300 will arrive in a more hand-friendly size, but with zero compromises on its flagship status. While there’s still no official word on the screen size, his tease that there’s “no need for an X300 Pro Mini now” pretty much says it all.
For context, last year’s X200 came with a 6.67-inch display, while the X200 FE shrank it down to 6.31-inches and a lighter build.
But despite the smaller size, the X300 is still expected to get a serious camera boost, with a 200MP (1/1.4″) primary sensor replacing the X200’s 50MP shooter. Rumours also point to a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a new 50MP telephoto lens – doubling up as a macro cam – with 3x optical zoom.
Meanwhile, the battery is expected to be the same size as the X200 FE at 6,500mAh.
Geekbench results have already popped up for the X300, showing off scores that match up with the latest flagship territory. Now, all that remains to be seen is whether Vivo positions the phone as a true “mini” or as a bridge of sorts between the FE and Pro.
