Vivo Y500 comes with a giant battery that doubles up as a power bank, quite literally

Vivo has launched a new smartphone that’s also a power bank, and we aren’t joking. The all-new Vivo Y500 packs a massive battery that’s unlike any other phone in the segment. We aren’t talking about a 6,000 or a 7,000mAh battery, but rather a battery so big that it can offer days of usage, plus also top up your other gadgets.

What's special about the Vivo Y500?

The Vivo Y500’s main highlight is its large battery that’s expected to offer about two days or more of battery life, depending on the usage. To give you an idea, it rocks a whopping 8,200mAh battery, which is the largest in this segment.

Vivo has also offered 90W of fast charging, which means you can also get quick top-ups. Interestingly, you can also reverse top-up your accessories and other gadgets, like TWS earbuds or another smartphone. How? That’s through reverse wired charging support.

While you won’t get the fastest speeds when reverse charging your other devices, you are at least assured that they won’t die. The Y500, quite literally, packs a power bank in it, and that’s great for power users or those with multiple gadgets.

Battery aside, the device boasts a large 6.77-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Performance is taken care by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, and you also get a 50MP rear camera for good portraits. There’s an 8MP selfie snapper for those who love to pose.

If you like these features, all of that costs you CNY 1,399 (about Rs 17,000) for the base 8GB + 128GB variant. While the specs sheet looks good, you can’t really buy the phone in India right now, as it’s only available in China.

However, in the same price segment, you can also check out the Vivo T4, which packs a large 7,300mAh battery and runs on Android 15.
